Celebrity chef, Paul Heathcote has been awarded a top accolade for his Olive Press restaurant in Manchester.
The Olive Press, Deansgate was presented with the award by Pride of Manchester website for being the most family friendly restaurant in the city. The award recognises that the restaurant offers the best value for families and keeps children happy and entertained. More than 1,000 votes were cast with Olive Press being the overall winners.
Paul said: “It’s fantastic to receive this award and it’s great that our dedication to children and to creating a family friendly restaurant has been recognised. We’ve worked really hard to put measures in place to ensure that families have the best experience possible and we will undoubtedly continue to develop this as I see it as such an important factor.”

Some of Paul’s family friendly measures include a menu filled with both healthy and appealing dishes for children and main courses served alongside adult starters to prevent the younger members of the family becoming restless.
Many of the restaurants have plasma televisions screening children’s films every Sunday as well as children’s cookery classes to help to keep them entertained while their parents dine. Paul has also introduced dedicated tables where children can play cards and board games.Children under three also eat free and children of all ages are encouraged to become involved in the culinary experience by reaching top tips on how to make their own pizzas.
