Baby loves disco

Baby charity Tommy’s and Baby Loves Disco are calling for all junior groovers in Manchester to take part in a UK-wide ‘dance-athon’, to raise money for Tommy’s vital research into pregnancy complications.

The overall winner – decided by a panel of judges from Baby Loves Disco, Tommy’s and Practical Parenting magazine - will not only be crowned Britain’s Best Little Dancer, but will also win a family weekend break at Butlins.

From 2 - 5pm on Sunday 31 October, Baby Loves Disco - the afternoon dance party for toddlers and pre-schoolers – will be transforming The Circle Club in Manchester into child-proof discos. As young ones take to the floor, judges will be looking on to make the tricky decision of who should go through to the final selection.

Actress, presenter and mum-of-two, Terri Dwyer, will be on the judging panel at Tommy's Dance-athon in Manchester.

Terri said: "As a mum to two young boys, I know the challenges involved with keeping young ones entertained yet active. This is a great way to get little ones moving, and raise money for Tommy's vital research into making pregnancy healthier and happier for everyone"

The overall winner – decided by a panel of judges from Baby Loves Disco, Tommy’s and Practical Parenting magazine - will not only be crowned Britain’s Best Little Dancer, but will also win a family weekend break at Butlins.

Tommy's is asking for each little dancer to try and raise at least £20 in sponsorship.

Jane Brewin, Chief Executive of Tommy’s, says: “We’re hoping as many people as possible get involved with the dance-athon – not only is it great fun, but will ultimately help other parents to take home healthy babies, so that they can also go on and enjoy precious moments such as these in the future. Every little dancing step counts.”

The highest fundraiser will win an original piece of children's wall art of their choice from Marmalade Paws, Peppa Pig goodies, tickets to family attractions and a family ticket for a future Baby Loves Disco event. Every child that takes part will be given a Baby Loves Disco certificate to take home.

The event is open to children aged 6 months to 7 years. Tickets are £8 per person (non-walking babies go free) and once participants buy their tickets online, they will be directed as to how to set up their personal fundraising page.
