Showcase Manchester to screen a series of films for kids over the summer holidays

SHOWCASE Manchester in Belle Vue has launched a brand new season at the cinema for children called ‘Passport Around the World’.

Every Monday at 10am, they'll be screening popular children’s films set in different parts of the world in a bid to help educate and inspire kids during the summer months. Films in the series will include ‘Gulliver’s Travels’, ‘Rio’ and 'Kung Fu Panda 2'.

2011 07 27 Kung FuKung Fu Panda 2Children will be given educational worksheets on each visit and a special passport that will be stamped each week as a memento of the film and the part of the world they have ‘visited’. By collecting every stamp each child will be entered into a prize draw to win exclusive movie merchandise.

The dates and films are as follows:

1 August: Gulliver’s Travels
8 August: Rango
15 August: Rio
22 August: Kung Fu Panda 2
29 August: How to Train your Dragon

Admission is £2 per child (14 years and under). One adult/parent/guardian is admitted free when accompanied by an admission paying child. Additional adult guests will be admitted for £2 each, subject to seating availability.
