WITH the summer holidays upon us, parents will be looking for ways to entertain the kids without having to worry about money. For cost-effective days out over the six long weeks why not check out the exciting industrial heritage museums and attractions across the North West?
Not only do many of the 100 plus Modern History venues offer free entry, but families visiting three or more of the attractions can also claim a pack of Top Trumps cards.
Designed to keep them occupied long after the visit, the special edition Modern History Top Trumps feature the faces and places of the Industrial Revolution and help children understand the excitement and innovation of the period in a fun and engaging way.
To claim the free packs, you simply need to download the Modern History Discovery Pass at www.modernhistory.co.uk and have it stamped at three of the museums or attractions, which include Anderton Boat Lift, MOSI, Honister Slate Mine, The Blackpool Tower, Quarry Bank Mill and East Lancashire Railway.
The Modern History Discovery Pass also allows families to take advantage of some great money saving offers on admission, shopping and refreshments at selected venues.
Lisa Houghton, marketing manager at Modern History, said: “Entertaining the kids over the summer holidays without spending a fortune can be a challenge, but we hope that our Discovery Pass will inspire some great family days out, while also helping the holiday budget go that little bit further.
“The Industrial Revolution saw the North West lead the world into a new era and as a result, the region boasts some of the UK’s most fascinating museums and attractions, which tell the story of the innovations and adventures that still impact on our lives today.
“With more than 100 Modern History museums to choose from, there’s a venue to suit all curiosities and with lots of child-friendly activities and exhibitions, plus of course the free Top Trumps cards, they’re the perfect summer holiday solution.”
