Got a Wallace and Gromit fan in your family? Take them to Wirral’s Spaceport attraction this half term and they'll have a grand day out.
For a real treat, take them on Saturday 23 or Sunday 24 October for Making Gromit Weekend. It's an extravaganza of Aardman-style modelling where children can make their own Gromit to take home.
Wallace and Gromit in Space is the cracking exhibition at Spaceport – the £10m space travel attraction on the banks of the River Mersey.
Throughout half term (23-31 October) one child is free with every full paying adult, including the Mersey Ferry cruise there and back*. Click here to download your free child voucher.
For a real treat, take them on Saturday 23 or Sunday 24 October for Making Gromit Weekend. It's an extravaganza of Aardman-style modelling where children can make their own Gromit to take home. Aardman Animations model maker Jim Parkyn will be there to show everyone how it's done. Join him between 12pm and 4pm to take part.
And from 23-31 October, you're likely to bump into some very special guests...Wallace and Gromit themselves will be at Spaceport posing for pictures with fans.
Visit Wallace's Moon Base Exploration Station and space workshop, interact with some cracking contraptions and space-age inventions, and see a selection of sets from the award-winning films. There's even a chance to design your own alien.
The exhibition will take visitors on an exciting journey with lots of making and creating along the way. You'll learn about the first lunar landing in 1969, Wallace and Gromit's visit in 1989, and their return expedition in 2010.
As well as the Wallace and Gromit in Space exhibition, you can become a virtual astronaut in a 360 degree Planetarium show, or fly in the Space Explorer craft.
It's an entertaining (and educational) day out. The fun starts as soon as you board the ferry at the Pier Head terminal in Liverpool city centre. Combined tickets include the 50 minute River Explorer Cruise where you can learn all about Liverpool's fascinating history, and see its spectacular sights.
The Pier Head terminal is a 20-minute walk from Liverpool Lime Street station, and a five minute walk from Liverpool James Street station. Alternatively, there's car parking near to the waterfront and at Liverpool One shopping centre. (Click here for more information.)
So whether you've got a budding astronaut or an aspiring animator in your family, make sure you visit the Wallace and Gromit exhibition at Spaceport this half term.
