KIDS Confidential is delighted to announce a one-day family festival to keep kids smiling this half-term. The event will take place at The People’s History Museum and offers cupcakes, karaoke, crafts and many more activities for kids from 24 months up to and including 8 years of age. Babies are welcome to come along for free.
As we are expecting a lot of you to want to come along to first Kids Confidential Family Festival, we've split the day into two sessions (one am, one pm) on Thursday 27th October. All providers have been vetted by Kids Confidential HQ and highlights of the line up so far include a 'cupcake bar' from Hey Little Cupcake which offers bakers the chance to decorate their own Cookie Monster cupcake, while in the museum's signature open spaces, budding performers can practice street dance and singing.
Those who like exercising their vocal cords can give it some welly at Jo Jingles singing and instrument corner, while Kiddy Cook will be holding cooking classes and healthy eating sessions. They’ll be making home-made butter and conducting gastronomic experiments including carbon dioxide rockets to show the children the chemical reaction that causes bread to rise. As if that wasn't enough, they'll also be dying tongues blue to highlight taste buds and giving everyone the chance to sample baby food - to show the difference between taste and flavour.
Young artists will want to track down Splat Creative's engaging art and craft activities with a focus on 'doing it yourself' (lashings of inspiration and encouragement included, of course). Classes on offer during the day include the chance to make a bonfire night collage and a spooky Halloween mobile. There's going to be a reading corner with Chorlton Bookshop, and a bouquet of dance classes, karaoke and even the chance to star in your own show with Starlight Performing Arts Academy.
Boss Model Agency will also have a stand at the event for their children’s casting which takes place the same week. If successful, children and parents will have to be available for shoot that weekend and if parents want their kids to be entered into the casting, kids should come prepared to be papped by the Boss Model official representative.
A session includes:
- Sparkly baking fun with Hey Little Cupcake's decorating workshops
- Jo Jingles kids karaoke and music-making classes
- Make butter and baking soda rockets with Kiddy Cook
- Spooky collages and mobiles with Splat Creative
- Street dance lessons with Starlight Performing Arts
- The chance to enter into a Boss Model Agency casting
- A goodie bag for each child
Seeing as the event is taking place in the People's History Museum, this is your family's chance to enjoy a bit of culture and history as well as taking part in the fun. The Museum Cafe will be offering Festival attendees an exclusive 2 for 1 offer on food (free child's meal for the price of an adult) and 2 for 1 on drinks.
The morning session runs from 10am to 1pm, and there's an afternoon one from 2pm to 5pm. The cost is £12 for one child and one adult which includes a goodie bag.
