Back for the fourth year is the hugely popular Manchester Science Festival. This year the festival will celebrate among other things The International Year of Biodiversity, with more than 200 events over nine days across Greater Manchester. There's walks, talks, workshops, shows, comedy, exhibitions and more - all in the name of science.
Visitors can look forward to learning how to make chocolate, finding out more about the plight of our bees or even learning about maths through standup comedy.
Many events are interactive such as crafty workshops, but there will also be heated debates, music, stand-up, stories and science busking. Many events are free too.
Festival Director Natalie Ireland said: “It’s going to be an amazing festival - personally I can’t wait to see the Super K Sonic Boooum - but we have such a breadth of events that I’m sure the whole of the North will find something to get excited about and get involved in.”
Manchester Science Festival runs from 23 – 31 October at various venues in Manchester including MMU, MOSI, Zion Arts Centre, The Manchester Museum and The Comedy Store. For the full listings visit www.manchestersciencefestival.com
