ON Thursday 25 August 10am – noon, Tatton's historic Old Hall will be transported back to medieval times with a new hands-on discovery session.
The new event will enable adults and children to experience a little of life in a medieval setting, led by our costumed interpreter guides.
The Old Hall at TattonSwap your anorak for some armour as all participants will have the opportunity to dress in reproduction clothing and become a medieval knight.
There'll be a cooking demonstration in the grounds of the hall where the chef will be rustling up authentic delights such as coney pottage – a rich stew.
Old Hall Steward, Mick Ricketts said: “This is an opportunity for participants of all ages to get a taste of past times in an authentic historic setting. We hope they will join in the spirit of the event and leave contemporary life behind for a special couple of hours.”
The Old Hall stands within its own grounds in a quiet wooded area of the parkland. Formerly a half-timbered manor house, it is the oldest surviving building at Tatton Park. The Old Hall was continuously occupied from the late fifteenth century to the 1950s.
To attend the 'Move with the times' event tickets must be booked in advance. Tickets cost: adults £8, child £6. Minimum age 8 years.
