With royal wedding fever everywhere, Greenhalgh’s Craft Bakery has created its own special tribute to the soon-to-be newlyweds.
The Bolton-based baker has created two 120cm figurines out of sugar-paste and will be showcasing them in stores around the North West so royal fans can have their picture taken with them.
David Smart, production director and second generation baker, said: “The royal wedding is an exciting time for everyone and our expert team of cake decorators couldn’t resist making models of the happy couple.”
“We then had to decide on what to do with the figures and it seemed only fair that like their real life counterparts they make an official visit around the North West. We’ve also created a selection of fun products for families to enjoy on 29 April ranging from gingerbread crowns to special royal wedding cakes for street parties.”
The tour has already been to Greenhalgh’s stores in Ormskirk, Bootle and Didsbury but it will make a final appearance at the Deansgate store in Bolton on 28 April. Visitors will be invited to pose for a picture with the figures and post it to the Greenhalgh’s Facebook page, where they will be entered into a prize draw for a royal wedding party pack plus a six-inch round royal wedding cake.
