First impressions: We have the children’s dinosaur set in bright orange. It’s original, cute and very cool.

Ease of use: Quick and simple. If you or your kids have ever had one of those stick-on tattoo kits, it works rather like that. The pack comes with step by step instructions and plastic scraper tool. Lay the sticker out on a surface and run the scraper lightly over it. Peel back the paper support making sure that the sticker stays on the clear paper. Place the sticker into position on wall/ceiling and run the scraper over it, working from the centre out to avoid air bubbles. Wait 10 minutes, peel back the clear paper and hey presto.

Pros: Jollies up any wall with very little effort, it’s certainly cheaper and easier than papering. As every parent knows, kid’s fashions change as often as their moods swings. The wall stickers are removable so if your little darling falls out of love with his/her designs, just peel them off and choose another.

Cons: You could become quite addicted to this bit of DIY. Just make sure you don’t go over the top – remember less is more.

Value for money: Yes. This nifty invention means you can achieve a designer look for a lot less.
