Search for a star

Christmas may seem a long way off, but the pantomime spirit has surfaced in summer as Robinsons began its 2010 ‘Search for a Star’ campaign in Manchester.

Youngsters will have the opportunity to play with kids their own age and have fun with theatre experts, as well as show off their dancing and acting skills to a panel of professional judges.

Aspiring young actors and actresses have the chance to audition for the local production of Snow White at the Opera House this Christmas.

Former Coronation Street actress Tina O’Brien and former Emmerdale actor Andy Devine, will be playing Snow White and The Henchman in the production. Local kids between the ages of 6-16 years-old need to register for auditions online to be in with a chance of winning one of the 20–30 roles up for grabs in the local production of Snow White.

Robinsons recognise that play and performance are essential activities for kids, so at the auditions, youngsters will have the opportunity to play with kids their own age and have fun with theatre experts, as well as show off their dancing and acting skills to a panel of professional judges.

The Manchester auditions will take place at the Opera House on Saturday 4 September between 10am-2pm. However, there are only 400 places available and registration will close as soon as that number is hit.

Manchester is one of 12 cities across the country that will see a glittering cast perform a First Family Entertainment pantomime production this Christmas. Robinsons is offering local kids the chance to be part of that magical pantomime tradition and star alongside Tina and Andy and a professional cast in the production of Snow White that will be showing at the Opera House from 4 December until 2 January.
